Software and ICT Teaching

We run training courses in venues all over the country, many centres prefer us to use their own facilities, as we can then use their own software and hardware, enabling us to make the course even more relevant to the centres' needs.

Courses at our carefully chosen venues are £199 for the first attendee from a centre, £150 for subsequent attendees.

This includes training costs, a full set of materials, coffee and luncheon.

At many of our venues we limit the numbers to 10, if the group is larger we will always try to provide two qualified trainers, however this may not always be possible.

Training at your school or college may work out cheaper, please contact us for details.

Day courses start at 9.30, with coffee and introductions, lunch is usually around 12.30, and the day finishes around 3.50.

Applied GCSE ICTThis course is designed to take staff through the sort of projects that pupils should be submitting for this new qualification. It will focus on web design, but incorporate animation, image manipulation, database back-ends and many other facets that these new specifications allow pupils to study. We will also cover how the courses are assessed across the different Awarding Bodies, with real examples, where available. Unit Three of the Applied course offers the opportunity for pupils to look into many aspects of ICT, we will also look at how ICT in Society can be covered in an innovative and exciting manner, using visits, case studies and real examples.

ICT Assessment The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority have been busy over recent years. There are a plethora of ICT qualifications, and an equally vast array of assessment methods. We are able to support centres in assessment of all aspects of ICT. From Key Stage 1, right through to A Level. Our trainers and consultants are examiners at GCE and GCSE for the Awarding Bodies. We also have members of the development team, involved in On-screen, On-demand assessment models. We can tailor a course to your needs, and run it at your centre. We can support staff in assessing work against the National Curriculum, for the end of Key Stage Assessment, or help with moderating and assessing coursework for the GCSE, Applied GCSE or post 16 qualifications. We are also able to advise on the relevance and requirements of alternative courses, such as BTECs, NVQs, CLAIT or ECDL. We are also keen to promote alternative methods of assessment and teaching, and offer consultancy to SMT teams regarding curriculum development and management.
